
The tradition will never forgotten…
Usually when the lunar seventh month arrives, believers and followers will place two candles on any grass patch they can find in front of their house, and then they will place the offerings in front of the candles for the ghost. After every thing is done, they will light 21 joss sticks and pray 3 times as a form of respect. After every thing is done, they will then bring all the offerings to the bin as shown in the picture to burn the offerings for them.
In the olden times, the bin is made up of oil tins where the top part is removed and holes are punched at the side. Nowadays the government provides the bins as they think that by burning the offerings in front of your house is unhygienic and difficult to clean up thus the idea of providing bins =)
